Wildlife Productivity & Management ProgramThe Wildlife Productivity and Management Program at the University of Alberta was established in 1974 with the specific purpose of evaluating the agricultural potential of wild ruminants. The Metabolic Unit at the Edmonton Research Station was used until 1977 when the Ministik Field Station was established and stocked with bison, wapiti, mule deer, white-tailed deer and moose. Recently, the bison herd was moved to the University Ranch at Kinsella. Since establishment the program has been coordinated by Robert J Hudson.
